Welcome to SCHS -- 50 Years of Service!

Tula     Did you realize that 2014 marks SCHS's 50th year of serving homeless animals in the Sheboygan area??! We are planning some events to celebrate, and will give you all the details just as soon as we have them!

Our pets provide us with unconditional love and companionship. They teach us about loyalty, determination, and joy in the simplest of things. We provide them with food, shelter, and health care, and we shower them with toys, walks, playtime, and snuggles. They show us their appreciation in tail wags, kisses, and happy dances.

The homeless animals at SCHS are no different. We care for them and show them love and affection until we can find them new families. Their hopeful faces make us grateful that we can give them the very best care until then.

Lily, an adoptable cat at SCHS       We are proud to announce that in 2013, every adoptable dog, cat, and little critter at SCHS found a new home for the third year in a row! Part of the reason for this is our partnership with the Sheboygan and Grafton PetSmarts, who provide adoption centers which showcase our beautiful adoptable cats, giving those lucky felines another chance to find their purrfect match.

And did you know that our adoption fee for adult cats is only $20? That includes: spay/neuter, primary vaccines, Felv/FIV Test, microchip, certificate for free veterinary exam, licensing, and deworming/flea treatment!

These programs have greatly increased our adoption rate, so we always have enough room to house the next homeless cat.

We do this work only with your help. We are grateful to each and everyone of our supporters. Thank you!

Attention all Students, Teachers, 4Hers, Scouts, and other organizations: Call and make an appointment to visit SCHS -- it's fun! When you arrive for your scheduled visit, our friendly and knowledgeable staff will give you a walk-through tour of our facility, hold informative discussions on pet safety and responsibility, and provide age-appropriate pamphlets and coloring books. Don't forget to call ahead!

Regular Shelter Hours:

Noon-4:30 pm
Noon-6:30 pm

Please arrive at least half an hour before closing time -- at least 45 minutes prior to closing if you are surrendering a pet.

We welcome groups and organizations, but ask that you call ahead to arrange your visits so that we can schedule the time and attention that you deserve!

Who We Are

The Sheboygan County Humane Society was established in 1964. We are an "Open Admissions Shelter", meaning no homeless animal is ever turned away. We shelter 2,500 homeless animals every year, and we are not funded by any tax dollars. The SCHS is a 501c3 organization and donations are tax-deductible.

Our Mission

The mission of Sheboygan County Humane Society is to encourage the compassionate treatment of all animals, the care and adoption of homeless animals and the education of the public.
