Hi My name is Penelope and I am a female Rex rabbit and I am 1 years old. Come meet me and talk to shelter staff about care and my spunky personality. Here are some things you should know and to help you prepare for my arrival!
Penelope is a spunky, curious and treat-demanding bunny! Her hobbies include trying to shove her nose as far through the pen wire as possible in hopes food gravitate to her mouth, watching the world from her chair (throne) in her pen and redecorating where her hay box and blanket are nightly. She is great at her litter box and loves having her extra “hay box” of just hay to sleep and play in.
Penelope is currently in foster, where she has been learning how to trust people and how comforting it can be to experience petting and touch. She is working her confidence and will flourish in a home that understands that and has some prior bunny experience.
Since moving into foster, she’s blossomed in so many ways! Every night before feeding, she gets a gentle pet. When this first started she hesitate and ran away often. In a very short time she’s realized “hey this is actually nice!” And melts down to the floor for you to pet her.
Her personality has burst and she’s full of spunk. When her pen door is open, she will eagerly investigate, exploring the room and checking everything out. She has potential as a free-roam bunny and she’d love a place of her own where she could have lots of places to explore!
